Stereoselective synthesis of polyfunctional molecules- Use of the borono-Mannich reaction and glycosylations

Séminaire du Dr Stéphanie Norsikian (CNRS - Institut de chimie de Substances Naturelles)

Abstract :

The Borono-Mannich reaction, also known as Petasis reaction, is a multi-component reaction between a carbonyl derivative, an amine and a boronic acid. We apply this methodology to the stereoselective preparation of chiral elaborate molecules and examine new variants of this reaction. We are also working on the total synthesis of tiacumicin B, a natural antibiotic. Our efforts are focused on the development of the rhamnoside and novioside fragments as well as the key 1,2-cis glycosylations needed to bind them to the macrolide.
